Founded in 2003, GiGi's Playhouse Inc.’s mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all.  With locations in 59 communities across North America and serving families in nearly 100 countries through our Virtual Playhouse, GiGi’s is making a worldwide impact on the Down syndrome community and beyond! Since opening in 2019 GiGi's Playhouse Little Rock has been thriving and spreading our mission throughout the local community, and you have an opportunity to be a part of this incredible mission.  
 
As we grow, we are in need of additional board members who are dedicated and energetic individuals to assist with leading the Playhouse in the local community. We currently have a strong 6-member board and we are looking for more great minds to help us continue to grow sustainably and to expand our reach.  

The Board as a group are responsible for the following:

• Preserving the mission and structure of the organization
• Broad oversight and management of the Playhouse​
• Provide financial stewardship and attend to issues of fiscal management and internal control ​​to ensure long term sustainability.
• Provide opportunities to welcome families, supporting activities to increase participation each quarter​​
• Maintain the quality of experience for all participants by providing feedback​
• Meet fundraising and budget goals on a quarterly and annual basis ​
• Represent the community to the Playhouse and the Playhouse to the community.​

Excellent board candidates are people who: 

• Have a passion for our mission 
• Are natural leaders 
• Know how to delegate and rally people around an effort 
• Are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty 
• Work well in a team environment 

Open Roles: 

• Board Officers - Dependent upon the role, some tasks include oversight and management of strategic direction, vision, board projects, financial position, staffing, and overall leadership. Each position has a specific portion of those items.  
• Board Members with experience in Education, fundraising or Development and a passion for giving back to the community.
