Samaritan House in San Mateo is seeking volunteer support with assembling produce boxes. There is some lifting involved, but not major, as some of the food needs to be unloaded off of palettes. We make these boxes daily to support the food-insecure and low-income families in and around San Mateo city and throughout the whole County of San Mateo. We need help Monday through Friday between either 9am to 12pm or 1pm-4pm on an ongoing basis.
Role entails assembling produce boxes for our daily food distribution. Duties may include lifting boxes onto pallets, unloading produce from vehicles, and getting boxes to and from sorting area to front-line. This is a fast-paced position that may require up to 25 pounds of heavy lifting. Cleanup is also required for this volunteer position.
