Support agricultural and horticultural initiatives at Hale Farm & Village this spring and summer! Farm and garden volunteers will work with farm staff to prepare and maintain farm fields and garden beds during the growing season.
Tasks may include tilling, amending soil with compost, planting, weeding and trimming, watering, and harvesting as the schedule indicates; every effort will be made to match the work to the interests and abilities of each volunteer.
Special opportunities include restoration of the Goldsmith ornamental garden, learning about hearth cooking at the pioneer garden, assisting with food preservation at the Herrick kitchen garden, and collecting natural dyestuff for fall dye explorations at the natural dye garden.
