The Rochester Rockets Youth Wheelchair Basketball program is in need of a lead coach and assistant coaches. This inclusive team has members with and without disabilities playing together increasing their basketball skills and confidence, and having fun. They practice on Wednesday evenings at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center. They currently play four games a year in Rochester and Buffalo. We are hoping to add more competitive play in the coming season.
Coaches facilitate skill development, game strategies, team building and play. RAA will provide training and mentoring including SafeSport certification. This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to help provide an inclusive opportunity for kids in our community. We would love to talk to you about this position in more detail!

We train and support recreation entities to operate with full inclusion of people with disabilities every time their doors are open; we are developing a robust menu of adaptive and inclusive sports opportunities, including the Rochester Wheels, Rochester Rockets and Rochester Sled Hawks teams; and our DirectConnect services ensure that every year we are connecting more children, youth and adults these opportunities!
