Join Women in the Wild (all genders welcome) to celebrate National Trails Day with a hike to the summit of the County’s Dictionary Hill Open Space Preserve. This 2.1-mile round trip hike to the top of Dictionary Hill offers 360-degree views of downtown, Sweetwater Reservoir, the Coronado Islands, Cuyamaca Peak and more! Participants will have the opportunity to take a Ranger-guided hike to the summit and show some love to our local trails through improvement activities such as adding new directional signs and improving trail conditions through clean-up of weeds and litter.
The hike to the summit is considered moderate, but we’ll have several options to celebrate the trails such as a nature walk, and different paced groups to the summit.
About National Trails Day:
Each year people all across the country unite on the first Saturday of June in celebration of National Trails Day. Join the nationwide movement to give back to trails and build a world where everyone has access and feels welcome to enjoy the great outdoors.
Millions of hikers, bikers, paddlers, horseback riders, trail clubs, federal and local agencies, land trusts, and businesses come together in partnership across the country to forge a more inclusive trail community and advocate for, maintain, and clean up public lands and trails.
