At St. Barnabas Senior Services (SBSS), we believe in making technology fun for everyone, especially our vibrant community of older adults. If you're the life of the digital party and enjoy turning tech fears into cheers, we want you to be part of our GOAL-Tech mission!
Position: Bilingual Volunteer Teaching Assistant
Tech Enthusiast Wanted: Are you the go-to person for tech tips and tricks? Do you light up at the thought of showing others the wonders of computers and mobile devices? Join our team and be a tech hero for older adults in Los Angeles!

What's the Buzz About GOAL-Tech? Our GOAL-Tech initiative is all about giving older adults a lifeline through technology. As a Bilingual Volunteer, you'll play a key role in bridging the Digital Divide by empowering English, Spanish, and Korean-speaking seniors to navigate the digital world with confidence.

Your VIP Pass to Fun Responsibilities:
- Assist in the administration of lively technology education classes
- Be the maestro of different sessions - "Typing on a touch screen," anyone?
- Virtual or in-person, you'll bring the tech magic to life
- Offer one-on-one "tech support" like a superhero
- Welcome and guide students with signing in
- Facilitate tech-tastic activities
Flexible Fun Hours:
- Your time, your way - we're all about flexibility
- Assist with in-person classes in Ventura County - we'll train you
- Dive in for a minimum of 5 hours per week
- Love it? Stay longer - the tech world is your oyster
- Must be 18 or older to join the tech party
Qualifications for the Fun Squad:
- English/Spanish bilingual (required)
- Social, patient, empathetic, and kind - bring the good vibes!
- Pass a background check and reference check
- Comfortable with digital tech skills on various devices

Description
Aging-in-place and wellness programs at Hollywood Senior Multipurpose Center (HSMPC) give seniors access to activities that promote healthy and active lifestyles. For seniors who are less independent, in-home support services help to prevent loneliness and isolation and serve as a lifeline of assistance.
ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS OF HSMPC
Active seniors can enjoy lunch at one of seven nutrition sites and may participate in Yoga classes, weekly movies, bingo days, poker and bridge clubs, a computer lab, lunchtime dances, a travel club, commercial acting classes and the chorale club.
For homebound seniors, aging-in-place programs such as home delivered meals, case management and our transportation program enable seniors to maintain their independence at home.
