Our Memory Bear Program is designed to preserve the memory of our families loved ones by handcrafting a stuffed bear to provide comfort in their time of sorrow.
Created from the fabric of the families loved one's belongings, such as their favorite clothing or blankets, these precious bears are hand-sewn with love by our hospice volunteer crafters.
Memory bears help keep the essence of the loved one close to their heart. Each bear is unique and tells a tangible story within itself.
We need volunteer crafters who can sew these remarkable bears with commitment, care, and dedication. We will usually try to quote the patients family at least a 2-6 month timeframe, depending on the volunteers suggestion.
Please reach out to us if you are interested in teaming up with Medi-Home Hospice and our families to make an impact that will last forever!
This opportunity can be done from the comfort of your own home, but will still require online training and one meeting in office before beginning.

Description
Why should I become a volunteer? Hospice volunteers can make an amazing difference in the everyday lives of patients and their loved ones
An important part of the hospice team is volunteers. A volunteer may run errands or simply provide companionship to patients, as well as intervals of rest for caregivers. As a hospice volunteer, you will be oriented to a specialized program so you can understand our mission, philosophy, and goals.
We will give you the skills needed to assist patients and their families. You will find it to be the most rewarding thing that you can do to make a difference in your life and someone else’s life. Volunteering affirms and enhances your acquired skills and knowledge.
Our volunteers are the heart of the hospice team. We depend on our hospice volunteers to assist us in providing compassionate support and care to our patients and their loved ones during this difficult time in their lives.
Our volunteers offer support, companionship and practical care to our patients. Whether it’s running errands, sitting with a patient to provide relief for the care giver, reading to a patient, helping a patient write in his/her journal or providing the power of presence. As a hospice volunteer, you will truly make a difference.
