ORGANIZATION: Aquarium of Niagara

Duties:

-Provide personal interpretation and group presentations at the Aquarium of Niagara.

-Provide guests with general information regarding our facility and programming.

-Assist Education staff with public presentations.

-Assist Education staff in preparation of materials for classes and events.

-Organize and maintain a clean workspace.

-Direct guests to exhibits, restrooms, and other areas of the building.

Qualifications:

-Enthusiasm for aquatic life!

-Responsible and dedicated.

-Able to be on feet for at least 4 hours a day.

-Willing to work in outdoor conditions.

-Must volunteer for at least one special event.

-Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills.

-Second language not required, but highly desirable.

-This position does not involve direct animal contact.

Directions:

-Mandatory orientation with our Education department.

-Ages 14 and up.

-Willing to meet minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week for 6 months -OR- 8 hours per week for 3 months.

Description

Located in downtown Niagara Falls, NY, the Aquarium of Niagara is less than a mile away from a natural wonder and is the only aquatic museum within 250 miles in the United States. The Aquarium is home to more than 120 species of animals including rescued/non-releasable marine mammals, penguins, and more than 1,200 fish and invertebrates. Through its living collection and educational programming, the Aquarium serves the community as a nexus for learning through exploration, a cultural destination, and a tourist attraction.
