Our after-school tutoring program runs weekly Tuesday thru Friday (may alter depending on schedules and holidays) 3pm to 5:00pm. Volunteers are scheduled to work 2:00pm to 5:30pm so that they can assist with daily set up and lesson prep for students, then tear down and clean up, while waiting for parents to pick up students, before signing out at 5:30 pm. However, we can work with a schedule that works best for you. The Tutoring Program itinerary consists of fragmented time for homework, or tutoring exercises such as basics like reading and math (Common Core). A student lunch is accompanied with a group activity. A half-hour of reading takes place while the tutor listens as the student reads. At 5 pm the tutoring session ends and parents begin to pick the children up.
Applications will be taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am. Applicants must be available for 2 hours when turning in the application, for orientation and interview on the same day. Because we do work with children adult applicants will also be required to undergo fingerprints the same day (off-site) which has a $30 fee. (Minors will not have to undergo a background check).
