Help maintain open coastal grassland habitat on of one of the Oregon Coast’s most iconic headlands! We will work at The Nature Conservancy’s Cascade Head Preserve, overlooking the Salmon River Estuary and the big blue Pacific Ocean. You can read more about this preserve here.  We have a small carpool available from our Portland office that arrives at 9:45 AM at Cascade Head Preserve outside of Otis, Oregon.

What are we doing, exactly?  We will be digging invasive blackberry out by the roots. Working out in the grassland, we will focus on seeking and destroying small blackberry cane shoots before they have a chance to grow into large patches. The hike to the project will be 4-5 miles round trip with elevation gain and will involve working on uneven and sometimes steep terrain off trail.
