ORGANIZATION: The Mill at Anselma Preservation and Educational Trust

The Visitors Center is the greeting point for visitors to our Historic Landmark.

The staff greets and registers guests, establishes tours for them, discusses the history of the Mill, explains membership and volunteer opportunities. Additionally handles transactions for purchases of items in the Center using our register system. Essentially the first face if the Mill.

During the Season from the 2nd Saturday in April to 2nd Saturday in December the shifts are typically:

  • Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Saturday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Mission Statement

The Mill at Anselma Preservation and Educational Trust is dedicated to restoring and preserving the mill and its equipment together with other buildings on the site, and interpreting the everyday life of the village at Anselma. This completely intact and extremely rare historic resource demonstrates the evolution of technology, and the impact of changes in free enterprise, commerce and transportation over three centuries of American life. Visitors to the mill will discover a variety of choices for integrating continued technological change in modern life.

Description

The c. 1747 Mill at Anselma is a nationally significant water-powered grist mill which ground grain over the period of three centuries. Recently restored, the grist mill is fully operational and offers tours and demonstrations to visitors.

Please note every volunteer is required to undergo background checks before working as a volunteer.
