Recruiting Organization: You Matter 2
The 4th annual Homewood-Flossmoor Juneteenth Festival organized by You Matter 2 is a celebration of African American culture as expressed through food, music, dance, and arts. Our mission is to provide an environment that celebrates and showcases the uniqueness, power, and endurance of African Americans.
In the spirit of community service and civic engagement, we invite you to participate in a volunteering event dedicated to supporting and uplifting our community on Juneteenth. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact, learn more about the history and significance of Juneteenth, and engage with the community in a meaningful way.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
- Date: June 15th, 2024
- Time: Multiple shifts between 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- Location: Homewood-Flossmoor High school - 999 Kedzie Avenue Flossmoor, IL 60422
- Activities: Activity Booth Sales, Beverage Station sales, Beverage station refill, Entrance team, Lost & Found/ Stage Hands, Registration, Runner/ Floater, Event Set up, Event Break down, and Vendor Check- In.
How to Get Involved:
If you are interested in participating in this Juneteenth volunteering opportunity, please sign up through www.hfjuneteenthfestival.com/volunteer by Friday, May 10th, 2024. We encourage all NHS members to join hands and contribute to making this event a success.
This volunteering opportunity aligns with the National Honor Society's pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. It is an excellent chance to embody these values while learning and growing as responsible and compassionate individuals.
