Public Program Volunteers support the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s live program offerings, which teach guests even more about the art of country music.

Volunteers encourage guests to attend programs-such as weekly Songwriter Sessions and Musician Spotlights, panel discussions, film screenings, and interviews-usher in the Ford Theater, provide wayfinding directions, take program attendance, and assist with meet and greets.

Availability: Public Programs volunteer opportunities are typically on weekend mornings and afternoons and are about 2.5 to 3 hours long.

Volunteer Benefits: In addition to free admission to the Museum, discounts in Museum stores and restaurants, and free parking while volunteering, we offer flexible self-scheduling, and the opportunity to volunteer in more than one area of interest (be sure to check out our volunteer opportunities in Guest Relations, Hatch Show Print, School Programs, and Youth and Family Programs).

About Us: As a volunteer, you’ll directly contribute to the Museum’s educational mission-to teach diverse audiences about the enduring beauty and cultural importance of country music.

Your impact will be felt: Annually, volunteers help the Museum deliver more than 1,200 educational programs to over 130,000 people, including over 30,000 students in school programs. And with more than 1.5 million visitors annually, you’ll be part of a vibrant cultural arts center-we’re one of the most visited history museums in the country-right in the heart of downtown Nashville.

Join Our Team!: For further details, including application information, please visit our Volunteer website ( www.countrymusichalloffame.org/support/get-involved/volunteer) or click "I Want to Help" above and a staff member from our Volunteer Programs team will reach out.

Mission Statement

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum collects, preserves, and interprets the evolving history and traditions of country music. Through exhibitions, publications, and educational programs, the Museum teaches its diverse audiences about the enduring beauty and cultural importance of country music.

Description

Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum documents and interprets the history of country music-a musical genre and culture central to the identity of the city, the state, and the nation. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the Museum proudly combines subject expertise, ambitious research, and preservation of an unparalleled collection with expressions of creativity in music, art, and history. The Museum collects objects and archival materials that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music and provides diverse learning opportunities through educational programs, publications, and exhibitions. The core exhibit follows the story of country music from its folk beginnings through its evolution as a commercial art form. Rotating exhibits examine a broad range of topics, from country classics to contemporary and emerging artists in American Currents: State of the Music. The Museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, and many others recorded.
