VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION
Position OverviewBelieve in Me is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Quality Assurance (QA) Lead to oversee our quality assurance processes for the development of the 1st Gen College Hub app. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering first-generation college students, we are in the process of creating a comprehensive app that offers resources, guidance, and support to help these students navigate the challenges of higher education. The Volunteer QA Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring the app's quality, reliability, and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures for the app development process.
- Lead a team of volunteer QA testers in identifying defects, documenting bugs, and verifying fixes.
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with the App Development Team to understand functionalities, identify critical areas for testing, and prioritize testing activities.
- Manage the tracking and resolution of defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely fixes.
- Advocate for user needs, ensuring that the app's UI/UX design and functionalities meet high-quality standards and are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.
- Facilitate regular QA team meetings to review testing progress, discuss challenges, and plan for upcoming testing phases.
- Report on QA activities, test results, and the status of bug resolution to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by soliciting feedback from users and team members and incorporating it into future test plans.
- Stay updated on new testing tools, methodologies, and industry best practices to enhance the QA process.
- Proven experience in software quality assurance, with a strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in developing and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Familiarity with bug-tracking tools and software development tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and determine root causes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of volunteer testers.
- Commitment to the mission of Believe in Me and a passion for making a difference in the lives of first-generation college students.
- Ability to volunteer 2-3 hours per week, with flexibility to attend team meetings and perform testing activities.
- Make a tangible impact on the lives of first-generation college students, providing essential support and resources to help them succeed.
- Collaborate with a team of equally passionate individuals about education, technology, and making a difference.
