Are you looking to volunteer with pets and their owners in your community? Through the Pet Assistance Linking Support (PALS) program, volunteers can make a positive difference in the lives of older adults and their companion animals!
If you are a compassionate volunteer looking to assist older adults with basic pet care tasks in their homes in Cuyahoga County, then we want you to volunteer with us! All volunteers receive free training and orientation on interacting with animals and older adults. By volunteering with this program, volunteers will enhance the well-being of both pets and their owners!
Types of pet care volunteers provide:
- exercising and playing
- interacting and socializing with pets and their owners
- helping to feed and water the pet
- cleaning pet areas and bedding
- cleaning up pet waste (ex., litterbox cleaning)

The mission of the Benjamin Rose is to serve as a trusted partner in the aging journey for individuals of all backgrounds as well as those who care for them.
Description
Benjamin Rose is an over 110-year old Cleveland-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to support caregivers and empower all people to age well through research, consumer-responsive services and client advocacy.
Programs and subsidiaries:
Home & Community based services: Home care, adult day services, social work, mental health services, including day treatment, and Senior Companions.
Rose Centers for Aging Well: Provides home-delivered meals, as well as hot lunches, programs and services at 7 senior center locations throughout Cleveland, East Cleveland and Oakwood.
Empowering and Strengthening Ohio’s People (ESOP): Fosters the economic empowerment of disenfranchised communities through outreach education and advocacy, including HUD-approved housing and financial counseling.
Margaret Wagner Apartments: Offers supportive housing for low-income seniors.
Research and Education: Conducts applied aging studies that enhance the lives of older adults and caregivers. Education and training programs disseminate the latest information about aging issues to professional and lay audiences.
Community Advocacy: Identifies and influences public policies that impact older adults and their caregivers.
