Mission Statement of The Project S.T.E.P.: The Project S.T.E.P. is committed to combating sex trafficking and exploitation. Our mission is to raise awareness, provide education, and prevent these heinous crimes. We recognize that both victims and offenders emerge from the same environment, and we aim to break this cycle by empowering individuals with knowledge and empathy. Through our curriculum, we educate offenders about the impact of sex trafficking on victims, their families, and the community. Our goal is to create a safer world where everyone understands the consequences of these crimes and actively works to prevent them1.

Job Description: As a Volunteer Grant Researcher for The Project S.T.E.P., you will play a crucial role in securing funding to support our mission. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and research grant opportunities from private and government entities. By meticulously researching potential grants, you will help us continue our vital work in raising awareness, educating offenders, and preventing sex trafficking and exploitation.

Responsibilities:

Grant Research:

Conduct thorough research to identify relevant grants from private foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Compile a comprehensive list of potential funding sources aligned with The Project S.T.E.P.'s mission.

Analyze grant guidelines, eligibility criteria, and deadlines.

Grant Proposal Development:

Collaborate with our team to develop compelling grant proposals.

Assist in writing and editing grant applications, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals.

Highlight the impact of The Project S.T.E.P.'s work and emphasize the importance of preventing sex trafficking and exploitation.

Database Management:

Maintain an organized database of grant opportunities, including relevant details and submission deadlines.

Regularly update the database with new information and track progress on submitted applications.

Communication:

Communicate with the project lead and other team members to provide updates on grant research and application status.

Attend virtual team meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

Passion for social justice and a commitment to combating sex trafficking and exploitation.

Strong research skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in using online databases and search engines for grant research.

Time Commitment:

Approximately 5-10 hours per week (flexible based on your availability).
