Caris Patient Care Volunteers visit with patients and their families, providing comfort and offering much-appreciated support.
A few activities you can do with patients as a Patient Care Volunteer are:
- Walk or sit with patients to talk and listen
- Read to patients
- Enjoy a favorite movie or TV program with a patient
- Listen to a patient's favorite music
- Play card games or board games
- Write letters for patients
- Be present for spiritual support, prayer and care

- Volunteers enjoy flexible scheduling

- Caris provides ongoing training and education for all volunteers
- Volunteering for hospice satisfies most community-service requirements for high school and college students
- For the safety of our patients and their loved ones, all hospice volunteers are subject to a background screening.
