Are you a current or recent patient at either Ben Taub or LBJ Hospital in Harris County? If so, please consider applying to our Council!

​What is the Patient and Family Advisory Council? The Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) consists of patients and family members who have had recent experiences with Harris Health System. PFAC members represent the voice of patients and can provide input on programs, policies, procedures and processes that contribute to a positive patient experience.

Examples of PFAC agenda items:

  • Discharge planning folder
  • Inpatient whiteboards
  • E-quality boards
  • Messaging to patients
  • Meal planning and selection
  • Nurses and doctors listening
  • New patient hub
  • Patient education
Who should join? Harris Health patients or family members who have had a recent experience in our hospitals and can:
  • Share their experience in a constructive way
  • Participate in a monthly meeting with hospital leadership
  • Educate staff by providing honest feedback about experiences
  • Listen respectfully to other perspectives
  • Engage in hospital projects and committees as needed

Harris Health System is a fully integrated healthcare system that cares for all residents of Harris County, Texas. We are the first accredited healthcare institution in Harris County to be designated by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home, and are one of the largest systems in the country to achieve the quality standard. Our system includes community health centers, same day clinics, three multi-specialty clinic locations, a dental center and dialysis center, mobile health units and two full-service hospitals.
