Local Long Ridge Library needs volunteers! We need help with planning and hosting events, modernizing the library, book weeding and buying and part time librarian help.
No previous experience needed, we will train you for any position you might be interested in.
Ideally looking for a proactive volunteer who can manage projects on their own.
GREAT opportunity for someone looking to make an impact, preserve our history, contribute to the community or gain for experience in librarian sciences, non-profits and local community centers.
For more information, please call at 203-748-1011 or contact us through facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LongRidgeLibrary
The library is open Saturdays 10am-4pm and sometimes Wednesdays 5-7pm.

About Long Ridge Library
Location:
191 Long Ridge Road, DANBURY, CT 06810, US
Mission Statement
The Long Ridge Library, located at 191 Long Ridge Road, was established in 1919 for the members of the Long Ridge Women’s Club. A few years later the library moved to its current building, a former one-room schoolhouse on Long Ridge Road. The New York Public Library, as well as local families, donated books to the initial collection. Today, contemporary books sit next to old volumes on the shelves, making it a fascinating treasure trove. The library, will soon be celebrating its 105th anniversary, serves over 500 families in the area: lending books, running book clubs, and hosting community events. As a public library, their services are free to residents of Danbury, Ridgefield, Redding, and Bethel. It is staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers, most notably, Barbara Fulton, head librarian for over 40 years.
Description
The motto since 1918:
"As we master life we live" D.C.B.
The Long Ridge Library is a historical community center, serving the Long Ridge and surrounding neighborhoods
since 1916. The library houses invaluable collections of local history, biographies and theatre, as well as books and
materials that have been donated over the years by prominent Long Ridge authors and artists. We also offer a wide
variety of books, audiotapes and videos representing new works and the classics for adults and children. Our
purpose is to provide a community gathering place for the Long Ridge/Danbury area residents.
