Make a real and lasting difference! Union Station is an architectural treasure, but it has always been the people who have given this historic landmark a heart.
Be one of those people. Join the volunteers at Union Station and help the Station continue to be the place where Kansas City connects. Whether greeting guests inside Science City, helping bring our touring exhibits to life, assisting in the Model Railroad or Dino Lab, serving in our administration office, or working behind the scenes, Union Station volunteers make a big difference. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available. You can complete orientation and become a regular volunteer with us, or simply help out with general events. Together, we will find the perfect opportunity for you. You can also give us a hand with special events, exhibits, and fundraising. Description
Goal: Develop-To develop and nurture successful and financially sustainable museums and attractions within Union Station Kansas City and to ensure those facilities serve as the destination of choice for local residents and visitors. Embrace-To embrace our role as stewards of Union Station, and to invite visitors and assist them in understanding the importance of historic preservation in contemporary society. Educate-To educate people of all ages in Kansas City’ regional history and in the exploration of science. To assist in experiencing old and new technologies affecting our lives and inspiring others to become innovators in developing technologies for the future. Exhibits-To attract quality and diverse traveling exhibits for visitors of all ages. Customer Service-To ensure that Union Station Kansas City and our representatives always provide outstanding customer service in the museum, entertainment, commercial, dining, and retail services. Collect, Preserve, Interpret-To collect, preserve, and interpret materials and artifacts that represent the broad scope of history within the diverse Kansas City metropolitan area, and to safeguard those collections for future generations.
