Can you welcome a child or children into your home this summer?

Each year Hour Children coordinates The Summer Program at Taconic and Bedford Hills Correctional Facilities and transports children from near and far so they can enjoy 4-5 days visiting with their Moms.

• Children range from age 6-17
• Children stay with the host family for 4 or 5 nights
• The Host Families drop off the children at the facility each day at 8:45AM and pick is after 2:45
• The Mothers and children enjoy this special time to connect and bond
• They share meals, play games and engage in structured and educational activities
• The children create long lasting bonds with each other, reducing the sense of shame and isolation
• Host Families will be screened and have a full orienation to ensure they are prepared and comfortable in hosting.
• Hour Children provides support to the Host Family throughout the process

Host Families provide a much needed safe place for childrento spend the night when they come to visit their mothers and participate in Childrens's Center programs at Taconic & Bedford Correctional Facilities. The Host Famlies extension of kindness and hospitality strengthens the bond between a child and their incarcerated mother.
