Your Role in Our Story

We are seeking a passionate and skilled volunteer Website Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who believes in the power of mentorship and is keen on using their technical skills to make a difference. Your expertise will directly contribute to the growth and success of A Few Good MENtors, ensuring our message reaches and resonates with a wider audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update our website to ensure it is always functional, engaging, and up-to-date with our latest programs, events, and success stories.
  • Implement SEO best practices to enhance our site's visibility and search engine ranking, making it easier for potential mentors, mentees, and donors to find us.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and optimize content, aligning with our mission and community engagement goals.
  • Provide regular reports on website performance and insights on possible improvements.

Who You Are

  • Proficient in WordPress, with a solid understanding of its themes, plugins, and customization options.
  • Knowledgeable in SEO strategies and tools, with the ability to apply this knowledge to improve website performance and reach.
  • A team player who values communication, collaboration, and is passionate about making a positive impact in the community.
  • Creative, problem-solving, and proactive in identifying and implementing digital solutions to enhance our online presence.

Commitment

  • Approximately 3 to 4 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. We understand the value of your time and are committed to making the best use of your skills and dedication.

Mission Statement

A Few Good Mentors, Inc. (AFGM) is a 501c3 community based mentoring program that provides young men with experienced mentors who develop a bond with mentees and offer support, guidance, and opportunities to help establish and accomplish life goals.

Description

AFGM began on October 2019, we beleive every young man can benefit from having a mentor to help navigate through life. Mentors will meet or contact their assigned mentees a minimum of one hour weekly. The goal is for mature men to help younger males develop into mature men. We focus on seven areas of devlopment. Spirituality, leadership, job/career. education, finances, good manners and health. Since we began we have mentored over 30 young men in the DC/VA and MD area as well as the Hampton Roads area ov Virginia.
