KeepSake Pillow
Thank you card from daughter after receiving pillows: "The memorial pillows are overwhelmingly beautiful and helpful. Please tell your volunteers their time and love in handling our mother's clothes was a GIFT BEYOND WORDS."

Use your sewing skills & creativity to make keepsake pillows for the families of our patients after their loved one has passed. Give them something to remember and hold on to. This is done in your own home and you can either pick up the clothing/materials from our corporate location located in Akron. You determine number of pillows you will accept. You usually have 4 to 6 weeks to complete a pillow(s).

About Summa Health Hospice

Location:

1077 Gorge Blvd, Akron, OH 44310, US

Mission Statement

To provide uncompromising quality care to terminally ill persons and those who love and care for them. Supportive services are delivered through cost-effective means promoting comfort, dignity, and the opportunity to live each day to the fullest."

Description

Summa Health Hospice is committed to treating the person and not the disease, focusing on quality-of-life issues affecting the patient's entire family. We use the combined knowledge and skills of a team of specially trained professionals that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, spiritual caregivers and VOLUNTEERS. Hospice provides care and support to patients and their families in the comfort of their own home. While traditional medical care is designed to cure illness, the focus of hospice care is more comfort-oriented. Hospice neither hastens nor prolongs dying, viewing it as a natural process -- emphasizing quality of life, rather than length of life.
