Volunteers needed to keep our Black History Museum open!
ORGANIZATION: DOMINI HOSKINS BLACK HISTORY MUSEUM & LEARNING CENTER
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Museum is open on Tuesdays-Sundays from 12-6pm. We are a completely volunteer-run museum, so we can only remain open when we have volunteer coverage for the museum. This is a great way to ensure that more people benefit from the opportunity to visit the exhibits of the museum.
Volunteers are needed to assist with basic questions about the exhibits and to help with general event security. In some cases, assistance may be needed with special events and tours at the museum as well.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Domini Hoskins Black History Museum & Learning Center is to educate our community, especially our youth, about the rich history that African-Americans have contributed to American society.
Description
What started as a small project for Carolyn Hoskins' grandson, Domini, has developed into a pop-up museum and teaching opportunity that has traveled to school and community organizations throughout the Bay Area. We currently have an exhibit that fills a 20,000 SF space in Redwood City and serve more than 1,000 visitors annually.
There is knowledge all around us and education gives people the chance to change the world. Providing Black HIstory is the first line of defense against racism and prejudice. We want to create a pathway for positive social interaction and outreach. History can be interesting and rewarding for the whole family. We offer one of the largest Black History museums on the West Coast, and you can learn about our proud history right here in San Mateo County!
