As a Chapter Board member within the Central Texas Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and in alignment with our National Board of Trustees, board members will work toward the achievement of our mission by making meaningful contributions to our chapter in the following ways: Board Engagement and Participation * Participate as a member of a committee. * Form a Take Steps team and/or recruit one. * Participate in at least one other foundation-sponsored event (i.e. Team Challenge, Special Event - golf, luncheon, etc.) * Foster introductions to the community leaders and companies that I may be associated with. * Attend and Participate in board meetings (at least 4 per year). * Attend at least one patient education program or conference as a volunteer or attendee. * Familiarize myself with the programs and research of the Foundation. * Foster introductions for chapter staff to community leaders, corporations and others. * Participate in the implementation of the strategic plan including a yearly retreat.
Each board member is expected to support the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation with a personal donation commensurate with their individual ability to give. In addition, it is assumed that board members will influence others to give to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation via cash donations and gifts in-kind. The amount of the Chapter Give and Get Board Giving policy will be established by the chapter and communicated to all members.

Description
We serve the estimated 50,000 IBD patients and those impacted by IBD in the communities in and around San Antonio and Austin, Texas. The Central Texas Chapter has many ways to get involved, such as active support groups led by dedicated facilitators, volunteer opportunities, and events throughout the areas we serve.
