ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield is seeking a dedicated volunteer to help staff the front desk at the park's Visitor Center.

Our visitor center was reopened in 2021 after an extensive remodel. You will be responsible for orienting visitors about the features inside the visitor center and museum from the Hulston Library to exhibits, answering the park telephone, accurately responding to visitors' questions in an enthusiastic manner, and helping with our Junior Ranger program.

No prior customer service experience is required, but enthusiasm and patience are a must. We offer trainings throughout the year, including customer service, interpretation, and safety. Hours of work are typically 2-4 hours a day, one day a week. We are especially interested in finding someone interested in working mornings or weekends.

We welcome all members of the public to apply for this rewarding volunteer. It is a great opportunity for everyone from high school to college age looking to learn more about the Civil War and share it with the public.
