Volunteers are truly the heart of hospice care.

From the beginning, volunteers have played a vital role as members of the hospice care team. Just like our patients, hospice volunteers bring a wide diversity of skills, cultural backgrounds and beliefs, offering these experiences and more to the fulfillment of our mission.

Interim Hospice Volunteer program offers a variety of opportunities to support patients and families and your contribution would make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Direct Care Volunteers help by providing comfort, support, care and compassion to our patients and their family members. You can make a difference by...

  • Visiting or calling a patient or family member and Providing companionship
  • Sitting with a patient so caregivers have free time (respite)
  • Sharing a quiet moment and simply being present

Indirect Care Volunteers help by providing administrative assistance to enhance the work of our staff and support patients, families and the efforts of the teams in the field.

  • "Tuck In" Calls at the end of the week
  • General office support
  • Help with various mailings

Volunteers set their own levels of commitment based on their available time and the needs of our patients.

If you are interested in learning more about the volunteer program and how you can get involved, please do not hesitate to reach out by calling 419-879-9394 or emailing mmiller@interm-health.com. I’d be honored to have you join our team and have you make a difference in the lives of others.

About Interim Hospice

Location:

Mission Statement

We treat every patient and family we serve with the same care and respect we would naturally afford our most precious loved ones at a time when being our best is non-negotiable.

Description

Interim Hospice is a Hospice company in Lima, OH that prides itself on our Mission statement. We truly do treat every patient and family like our own family. We are looking for volunteers to spend quality time and companionship with our patients. Most of our patient's just want someone to sit with and listen to their stories. Unfortunately, our staff does not always have that companionship time as they have more patient's to see and to make sure they are comfortable. They would also enjoy a walk outside, having you bring them a treat, or doing a craft with them! If you are not comfortable with being directly one on one with a hospice patient, our office staff is always open to a helping hand!! You can help with administrative work such as making Admission binders or helping our office manager with whatever they may need. We are looking to grow our Volunteer program to better serve our patient's and family's and help them have companionship and a better quality of life at end of life. You will never be asked to see a patient at the very end of life or through the transitioning stage, if that is one thing you are hesitant about when seeing hospice patient's! As the Volunteer coordinator I will never put you in a position you are uncomfortable with! If you are interested, Please reach out to Mandy at 419-879-9394 or email me at ahermiller@interim-health.com. Thank you! You must be 18 or older!
