Adopt A Lawn is general lawn care of a senior citizen's yard during the growing season. This is a great project for individuals, families, church groups, companies or teens. Adopt a Lawn for the growing season or get a group together and help up mow for a day!
Help a Senior Citizen maintain their lawn and their pride by providing support mowing, weeding and edging. We also have opportunities for hedge and tree trimming. Many of our clients are disabled and cannot afford to have someone maintain their lawn. They do not want their home to become the neighborhood eye sore and this simple act of service goes a long way by enabling them to continue living independently in their own home. Yards are typically mowed 2-3 times per month. Frequency is dictated by the growth of the lawn. This opportunity is open to teenagers with adult supervision. Volunteers may mow any day of the week that is convenient for them. All adult volunteers must pass a criminal background check.
Clients are located in one of the following 11 cities:
Keller, Southlake, Colleyville, Grapevine, Bedford, Hurst, Euless, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Watauga, and Haltom City.

Mission Statement
The mission of Serving Our Seniors (SOS) is to preserve the independence and well-being of our senior neighbors in Northeast Tarrant County.
Description
Serving Our Seniors is a non-profit organization established in 1981 with a mission to preserve the independence and well-being of our senior neighbors in Northeast Tarrant County. We have a vision that with a little help, most senior citizens can maintain their independence and live in their own homes. We accomplish this through three key program areas: Transportation, Helping Hands, and Social Outreach. Transportation provides rides for senior citizens to routine doctor appointments and quality of life visits including grocery store, pharmacy, bank and post office visits. A friendly volunteer picks them up, transports them, and waits with them during their appointment (just like a family member would). Helping Hands provides minor home repairs, lawn maintenance, wheelchair ramps, grab bar and handrail installations. Social Outreach includes monthly social events and quarterly Visiting Friends program where we link our senior clients with a volunteer for a home visit. We find that our volunteers are just as blessed by their time spent with our clients as our clients are blessed by them!
