Director of Technology: Our Director of Technology would become a board member to lead the committee in charge of our organization's information technology and security strategy and management. The role of our Director is to understand the mission and create a future IT infrastructure that sets the roadmap for all the other work to rest on, use, and protect, involves overseeing the use of technology to achieve PRH tactical goals, making decisions about IT investments, ensuring the security of our information systems, and aligning IT strategies with the overall business strategy.

Some key aspects of the role are:

  1. Mission Alignment: Ensure technology initiatives align with and support our mission and goals. This may involve developing technology strategies that enhance the delivery of programs and services.
  2. Resource Constraints: While operating with limited budgets and resources, the Director must be adept at finding cost-effective technology solutions, exploring partnerships, and leveraging open-source or donated technologies to meet our needs.
  3. Data Management and Analytics: As PRH often deals with sensitive data related to our clients and donors, the Director is responsible for implementing robust data management practices, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, and leveraging data analytics to measure and improve the impact of our programs.
  4. Online Presence and Fundraising: A significant part of our engagement with its stakeholders happens online. Our Director plays a crucial role in managing the organization's website, and online fundraising platforms to effectively communicate our mission and attract support.
  5. Collaboration and Communication Tools: We often have dispersed teams or volunteers. Our Director must implement collaboration tools and communication platforms to facilitate seamless information sharing and coordination among team members. This includes but is not limited to email support, reporting capabilities, storage space, etc.
  6. Cybersecurity: Protecting sensitive data and maintaining the trust of donors and clients is paramount. Our Director must implement robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard PRH against potential threats.
  7. Training and Capacity Building: Given the diverse skill sets in PRH, our Director may need to provide training and capacity-building initiatives to empower staff and volunteers with the necessary technology skills.
  8. Technology Partnerships: Collaborating with technology partners, including other nonprofits, tech companies, and donors, can be essential. Our Director may explore opportunities for shared technology resources and collaborative projects.
  9. Develop and maintain a yearly budget and assist other committee chairs with determining IT needs and costs.
  10. Recruit and onboard technology volunteers to assist with the roles necessary to fill our workload.
  11. Create a supportive team environment for volunteers
