Our Historic Orchard Revitalization is well under way and we are looking for volunteers to help us with the continued maintenance of the new fruit trees on site. Help us with our trees, and come back in a few years to see the (literal) fruits of your labor!
WORKDAY DETAILS
→ Date: Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month (weather permitting)
→ Time: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
→ Location: Historic Orchard
Please arrive as close to 9:30 AM as possible so that we can get you checked in via a contactless sign-in; workday instructions will follow check in.
POSSIBLE TASKS
- Weed removal
- Minor infrastructure repairs
- Tree pruning
- Mulching
- Other tasks, as necessary
We provide all necessary tools and have gloves to borrow for the workday. If you prefer to use your own gloves, feel free to bring them to the event. If you prefer to use your own gloves, feel free to bring them to the event.
Restrictions:
- We are unable to accommodate drop-ins if the event is sold out. School groups and corporate teams must contact the Volunteer Coordinator in advance to schedule events.
- The minimum age to volunteer is 10 years old. Chaperones are required for individuals age 15 and under.

In addition, please note that:
- Restrooms are a short walk from the Orchard
- A drinking fountain is onsite, though we highly encourage you to bring a full, reusable water bottle
- Closed-toed shoes and clothes you are comfortable getting dirty are essential
- We highly recommend wearing sunscreen and bringing a hat
- Inclement weather may cancel this event; we will contact you should conditions require the event to be postponed
We adhere to the stricter of State and County Public Health guidelines pertaining to COVID-19; please check the Santa Clara County Public Health Department's COVID-19 Guidelines for the General Public for the most up-to-date regulations for outdoor settings.

Description
The Guadalupe River Park Conservancy provides community leadership for the development and active use of the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens through education, advocacy and stewardship. Past efforts by the Conservancy contributed to collaboration among government agencies and community interest groups seeking to solve problems related to the Guadalupe River flood control project. The Conservancy is continually involved in completing the master plans for both the park and gardens, creating educational programs, promoting awareness of the Park & Gardens, and developing membership and volunteer opportunities to increase public support and involvement.
