Friendly Visits with Nursing Home Residents

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: InterFaith Works of Central New York

Join us in sparking joy in the lives of older adults through friendship and socialization! At InterFaith Works of CNY, in our Center for Healthy Aging, the One to One Program provides an opportunity for volunteers of any age to be matched with a nursing home resident who experiences loneliness and would benefit from developing a new friendship with a visitor.

Our ask is for you to commit to 1 hour, each week, for at least 3 months to nurture and grow a strong friendship in the life of an older adult in a nursing facility. The visiting schedule is created by you and the resident to accommodate both schedules, during your visit you are welcome to chat, work on a craft, listen to music, partake in social activities, and much more!

Take the first step to making a difference in the life of a resident by applying to our program today!
