Volunteers will work in partnership with FLY to the World, a nonprofit organization that teaches financial literacy to youth all around the world. As a volunteer teacher, you will be responsible with teaching topics such as budgeting and savings, credit management, and identity theft with local after school programs (middle school and high school).

This opportunity is open to high school students as well, and prior experience with the field is recommended but not required as we will equip all teachers with training prior to classes.

Description

We are a youth-led nonprofit organization looking for peer volunteers to teach basic financial literacy to underserved children. We provide you with training and materials. We started online teaching in 2022 and are now expanding our efforts to local community in Berkeley area. We are looking for high school volunteers to teach k-4th graders financial literacy through games 1 hour after school between 4:00pm to pm 6:00pmweekly. Content includes: recognizing money, practice simple math, play monopoly game we design to learn different types of jobs and life choices, learn banking system , credit and debit cards, play shopping games to distinguish needs vs wants. Commitment: 1 hour a week but can rotate among our volunteers in the group. Hours are flexible.
