MDA Summer Camp is a magical place where anything is possible - from swimming to zip-lining and horseback riding to dancing under a disco ball and gaining valuable life skills. Each summer, thousands of kids attend life-changing, overnight camps around the U.S. - at no cost to their families, thanks to our generous supporters. Each summer, hundreds of volunteers serve as counselors and medical staff to help make Summer Camp a safe, fun, and memorable experience.
We'd love for you to apply to join us as a volunteer counselor! As an MDA Summer Camp volunteer, you will be by a campers’ sides day and night as you participate in adaptive camp experiences, games, dances, mealtime and more, during the weeklong, overnight program. Volunteers work with campers, providing around-the-clock care and support with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, and more. Counselors meet the daily needs of each child and provide emotional support while facilitating friendships and serving as role models.
