Please come join our team and make a difference in the lives of others.

Hospice Services of MA is looking for a few dynamic, creative, hard working volunteers to help us with special projects for our Hospice patients and to help us in the office.
Memory Board Project: Volunteer will call families of Dementia patients to find out patients favorite things and then create a board with pictures of these things so that caregivers will have information about the patient's life to chat about during care.

Bereavement Basket: Volunteer will put together a basket to comfort families as they face the final days with their loved ones.

Volunteers can also help with administrative duties in the office including filing, putting together admission packets, mailings, helping organize Veteran events and many other tasks.

We will look to your strengths to help us help others.

About Athena Home Health Hospice

Location:

135 South Rd, Farmington, CT 06032, US

Mission Statement

Athena Home Health and Hospice strives to enable dying persons and those close to them to gain comfort and control over their lives, while neither hastening nor postponing death. We serve persons dying from any disease - in the home, in hospitals, and in other environments of their choice. Athena Hospice is committed to increasing access to hospice care for those who have traditionally been undeserved. Through hands-on assistance and teaching, we enable families and friends to care for those they love in supportive and familiar surroundings.

Description

Hospice care is about not giving up....it is about hope for people facing a life-limiting illness -- hope of living their lives free of pain, without fear and in the company of family and friends. The emotional and spiritual support we provide to patients and their families is greatly enhanced by the help of our staff and volunteers. We offer a supportive environment, friendly staff and a rewarding experience. In addition we now offer online training for your convenience.
