ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Opportunity Description : Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers and located in the heart of the Flint Hills Region, Council Grove Lake in Kansas is a smaller reservoir with breathtaking views and excellent volunteer opportunities. We have several camp host and general volunteer positions we are looking to fill .


Camp host duties include staffing a gatehouse, answering questions, assisting campers with registration, checking campers in and out of their campsites in the reservation management system, updating bulletin board, restocking brochures, cleaning the exterior and interior of the gatehouse, monitoring campgrounds, inform campers of regulations, and report violations to on-duty Park Ranger/volunteer coordination.


General volunteer duties include painting, general maintenance, maintaining trails, tree pruning, park beautification, and assisting fellow campers in navigating their way around the park. We are interested in seasonal or long-term volunteers with a minimum of 20 service hours per week in exchange for full hookup sites in several campgrounds. Tasks available to fit your interests and skills.
