We believe that our patients and their families come first as well as providing excellent service during the transitional period by accommodating the whole family with compassion and care. Volunteering plays a vital role in the hospice program, and we are always on the lookout for volunteers to support our patients and their families. We strive to provide comfort and excellent care to create the best experience possible for everyone involved. We look to our volunteers to provide a variety of support services to our patients. Here are some examples of what our volunteers can do:
- Hold a hand, share a story.
- Listen, read or sing to the patient.
- Run errands.
- Relieve for caregivers so they have time to do things they would like to do.
- Read the bible, sing hymns for them.
Each of these volunteer roles brings another level of quality care and comfort to our patients and families at the end of life. As a volunteer, you will give the amazing gift of compassion and often when you give this gift, you also get compassion in return.
