ORGANIZATION: SHE WILL FOUNDATION

As an LPC, you may focus on working with women and families; with people who have experienced domestic violence, homeless, immigrants or veterans; or with people who have addictions, mental illnesses, criminal records, employment issues, or disabilities. Our LPCs work with a client-centered outlook to:

  • Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, including addictive disorders
  • Provide direct therapy to clients in individual and group settings (this may include interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapy)
  • Research more effective therapeutic treatment modalities to benefit clients and advance the counseling/therapy profession
  • In-depth knowledge of DSM-V; strong knowledge of different counseling methodologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience in group counseling.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma informed treatments and evidence-based models.
  • MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint.
LICENSURE: Current state licensure by the Texas Board of Licensed Professional Counselors is required

SHE Will Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, that offers crisis intervention and counseling, addiction support, counseling, and advocacy to a community of women in the local area. Founded in 2017 by Dr. Sherita McQueen, our primary aim is to gain access to life-changing resources and support to move our community of women and families from crisis and inadequacy to stability and economic self-sufficiency. We support, help, and empower women affected by crisis situations to change their financial status, improve their health, well-being, living conditions, and become agents of change and role models in their homes and communities.
