Living Historian-Historic Interpreter Volunteer

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

The volunteer will work to provide a meaningful and educational experience for visitors through living history. Throughout the year, the park offers a variety of interpretive programs, including living history, to visitors, free of charge. Due to the high demand of these programs, the park needs Living Historians to assist in providing quality experiences for visitors. This interpretive technique can cover the period of the Colonial South Carolina Backcountry experience, the Regulator Movement, the French and Indian War, and the American Revolutionary war, although an emphasis is placed on the American Revolution. Living history presentations can involve demonstrations, talks, weapons programs, etc. These programs do not have to be just during special events, they could be held during school group visits, as well as weekends.
