Every Body Athletics believes that everybody is an athlete, regardless of physical or cognitive capacities. Every Body Athletics also gets its name from our focus on exercising every part of the body: physical, social, and emotional. Lastly, Every Body Athletics understands that we all benefit when everybody is included in our society and communities. Your role as a volunteer ("teammate") is very important, as you will help ensure that these tenets are being realized.
During each one-hour session, you will work out alongside our athletes via Zoom, modeling proper techniques and providing encouragement along the way. You will also help our athletes exercise their social-emotional skills by facilitating positive interactions among all participants. At times, you may be working one-on-one with an athlete, via Zoom Breakout Rooms. During our large group activities, you may find yourself leading a small group of athletes through various stretches and conversation starters. Throughout it all, you will be an integral part of Every Body Athletics, providing our athletes with a safe, positive, inclusive environment to gain and maintain the physical, social, and emotional skills needed in their adult lives.
EBA teammates are high school, college, and adult-aged volunteers (even corporate volunteer groups!) who represent an inclusive movement that you definitely want to be a part of!

Mission Statement
Every Body Athletics’ mission is to make a lasting impact on the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) through inclusive group exercise.
Description
EBA serves adults who have aged out of special education (21 and over) who come from day programs, supported living settings, or those still living with their parents/guardians. Designed by staff with Master's degrees in Special Education and dual certification in Personal Training and Special Populations Personal Training, each weekly EBA class provides specialized, adaptive exercises that focus on participants’ specific physical needs while inserting time for social practice along the way. Classes include a 1:1-2 ratio of teammates without disabilities (high school, college, and adult-aged volunteers) to promote inclusion and increased participation.
