Canine Love for Hospice Patients!

ORGANIZATION: Virginia Mason Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care

Image_202112011331

There is no equivalent to the love of a dog...and our hospice patients would be delighted to receive that love! We are seeking certified therapy dogs (and their humans) to provide joy and comfort for our hospice patients.

End of life patients are often unable to live with their pets in their final days. We are seeking individuals who are interested in becoming hospice volunteers, and who own certified therapy dogs (fully vaccinated) to provide essential comfort to our patients, all of whom are within 6 months of dying.

If you and your pet are interested in bringing joy to others, we would love to hear from you. Pets should be certified through:

-Canine Companions for Independence -Therapy Dogs International -American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Certification
Volunteer/dog pairs needed throughout Kitsap County!
