ORGANIZATION: Peacehealth United General Medical Center

Volunteers will help provide a warm and friendly environment and assist caregivers with any needed tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact patients and provide them assistance in a friendly and positive manner
  • Notify staff of patient availability, problems, needs, questions or concerns
  • Help unit staff with a variety of tasks

Qualifications:

  • Possess strong verbal communication skills
  • Show a friendly, positive manner and enjoy contact with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Demonstrate a willingness to keep current with hospital and clinic happenings
  • Responsible, outgoing and will to take initiative
  • Experience working, volunteering or recreating in a healthcare setting a plus
  • Must participate in required initial and updated training
  • Ability to walk, bend and carry up to 10 pounds unaided.
  • Ability to operate and transport patients in a wheelchair
