Mandarin Speaking Volunteers Wanted for Caring Calls to Older Adults

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: DOROT, Inc

Senior on Brownstone Steps

More than 2000 volunteers and older adults have been paired to date for Caring Calls, bringing warmth, conversation and social connection to DOROT's older adult community.

Matches participate in phone visits once a week over an eight-week period and last about 15-30 minutes each. DOROT provides information about good discussion topics and developing a friendship over the phone. This is a significant and meaningful opportunity for intergenerational connection and friendship. As part of DOROT’s expansion to Queens, we are looking for Mandarin speaking volunteers ages 18+ to be matched with Mandarin speaking older adults.
