Maternal Matters Favored has been awarded a scholarship for the Heroes Program from the National Non-Profit Resource Center and we are rebuilding our program. With this being said, we are in need of more help! We are looking for new Board Members to help support our mission of supporting those with Perinatal and Postpartum mood disorders. Expecting moms, new moms, and non-birthing parents alike, can go through emotional changes during parenthood. Without a community-based approach to receiving support these matters can spiral in trauma that can last a lifetime.

Board members are responsible for advising the President and collaborating with the Board on important decisions, day-to-day operations, and ensuring Favored’s goals and visions are met. Candidates will have a track record of being able to translate strategies and projects into step-by-step actions. Members will implement their talent, expertise, and dedication in making decisions and directing the organization toward achieving its mission.

Responsibilities:

• Attend and participate in meetings on a regular basis and special events as able.
• Participate on a Committee of the Board
• Recruit additional volunteers and potential Board Members.
• Help communicate and promote Favored’s mission and services.
• Become familiar with Favored’s finances, budget, and financial/resource needs.
• Understand the policies and procedures of Favored.
• Financially support Organization in a manner commensurate with one’s ability.

Qualifications

• Organizational leadership and advisement.
• A passion for community work.
• Oversight of program planning and evaluation.
• Review of organizational and programmatic reports.
• Promotion of the organization.
• Fundraising, grants and outreach experience.
