Work in the plant nursery with Eurydice! Eurydice has a full working plant nursery where they grow plants for the farm, their plant sale, and for their Plants for Justice project where they provide free seedlings for school gardens and food justice projects all over San Diego County.

Volunteer tasks will vary but may include: planting seeds, mixing soil, up-potting plants, weeding, watering, or organizing/cleaning the nursery area.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes:

Attire: Be prepared to work outside. You must wear closed-toe shoes. Dress in layers in weather appropriate attire that can get dirty. Wearing a hat is recommended. Using sunscreen is recommended.

Bring: Water bottle with plenty of water - there is no drinking fountain on site. Please bring your own work gloves.

Waiver: Every volunteer is required to sign a waiver. Anyone under 18 must have waiver signed by a parent/legal guardian. Waivers can be printed ahead of time here and copies will also be available on site.

Notes: They are also in need of watering volunteers for the nursery during the week - if you're interested in this come on a Wednesday so that Eurydice can fill you in and train you. BCDI requests that groups of 8 or larger sign up at least 72 hours before the project starts. If your group would like a farm tour, additional programming, or a private volunteer shift, please visit this page for more information.

Please download the HandsOn Connect app to your smart device to electronically sign the waiver and check in at this volunteer opportunity. The HandsOn Connect App can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play.
