What Does a Mentor Do?
Contribute meaningfully to the SCORE Maine mission : As a SCORE Mentor, be the driving force behind fostering vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education in our state. Engage with local women small business owners, understand their business needs, and guide them towards solutions, information, and resources to help them make informed decisions in Maine's entrepreneurial landscape.
Support, guide, and encourage local women entrepreneurs : Your role is to empower women entrepreneurs, working together to overcome challenges and make strategic decisions. While you won't do the work for them, your guidance is crucial in helping fellow women entrepreneurs succeed in Maine's business environment.
Utilize our CRM system to support Maine women-owned businesses : SCORE uses a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to keep track of mentoring requests and session notes. Your role includes recording essential information to help SCORE Maine understand where clients are in their business journey and how to support them effectively within our local context.

Description
SCORE, America's premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs and small businesses, is a nonprofit resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). We have over 300 SCORE offices across the country and 10,000 volunteers offering free business mentoring and low- or no-cost workshops.
For over 50 years, SCORE's thousands of working and retired business professionals have volunteered to support the success of small business nationwide. SCORE business mentoring is free and confidential.
We provide:
- Free, confidential business mentoring in person, via email or by video
- Volunteer mentors who share their expertise across industries
- Free business tools, templates and tips online
- Inexpensive or free business workshops (locally) and webinars (online 24/7)
