Do you live in the Kenosha area and want to help others?
We are looking for compassionate individuals to visit with people living in assisted living and nursing facilities in your area. We serve hospice patients that are nearing the end of life. In many cases, you will be paired with a patient who doesn't have a lot of visitors, are no longer able to get out and socialize like they used to, or simply just want companionship. Your visits would including chatting, playing music, playing cards, holding hands, or sometimes just sitting in silence with someone.
Our volunteers are full members of our hospice team and often form close ties with the patient and their family. In our Volunteer Orientation class you will understand some of the challenges that face patients and families and ways you can bring quality of life and compassionate care to them.
As a hospice volunteer you will learn about the hospice philosophy, communicating with patients and families, family dynamics, spiritual care and the grief process.
Please consider joining our team as we honor life and offer hope to those who need us most.
