Help dogs that have been rescued from the streets in Baja California find their forever homes! Volunteers in this role will support Baja Dog Rescue in meeting with potential adopters.
As a volunteer with Baja Dog Rescue you may also help with answering adopters' questions, walking dogs, cleaning dogs (if needed), loading food into their van, organizing their dog food storage, explaining and helping potential adopters fill out paperwork, interviewing potential adopters, writing posts for Facebook and Instagram, and recruiting foster homes for their dogs.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Time Commitment: 2 hours per week (typically 10:00am - 12:00pm) on Saturday mornings
Signing Up: Volunteers will need to fill out an application and onboarding forms before getting started. Please only express interest if you are committed to volunteering at the adoption events.
Attire: Casual
Physical Requirements: Volunteers should be able to lift the dogs up for adoption.
Desired Skills/Experience: The ideal volunteer for this role is friendly, outgoing, likes dogs, and enjoys talking to people.
Location: The adoption events typically rotate between the Mission Valley and Sports Arena PetSmart locations.

They are a no-kill shelter that rescues and rehabilitates unwanted, abandoned, and neglected dogs from the streets and local pound and find them loving happy homes; they literally give them a second chance at life. They currently have almost 200 rescued street dogs at their facility where they receive the medical attention, food, and love needed to be ready for adoption here in San Diego and all over the U.S.

Description
Our adoption events are every Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Location: Petco in Point Loma

We have (2) two shifts we need volunteers for. The morning shift, Shift #1, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM and the afternoon shift, Shift #2, 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM. Or you may attend the whole day if you wish. If you are coming to our morning shift, please show up at 8:30 AM.
Duties may include setup of tables, chairs and tents. Breaking down tables, chairs and tents. Watching dogs, walking dogs, cleaning up after dogs, interacting with the public, answering questions about the dogs (info will be provided at the event). Passing out flyers, and requesting donations on behalf of our rescue.
