ORGANIZATION: Best Friends Animal Society Utah

Best Friends Animal Society - Utah

The Best Friends Lifesaving Center provides a temporary home and showcase for many adoptable animals throughout the week. During the hustle and bustle of the day, it can be hard to keep up with all the cleaning duties that come with animal care! We need your help keeping our center clean and welcoming for adopters who come here to find their new companions. Your help will go a long way in making this place feel great for the animals and look great for all the people coming to adopt them!

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Help clean cat carriers, dishes, and other materials in the wash room

  • Move laundry through the washing machines and dryers

  • Fold and put away clean laundry

  • Help keep the warehouse and Best Friends vehicles clean

  • Clean office and lobby floors as needed

  • Clean lobby and office windows as needed

  • Assist with other cleaning projects as needed

Additional volunteer opportunities at Best Friends allow volunteers to work hands-on with the animals after volunteers have attended special classes and trainings . Check out utah.bestfriends.org/volunteer for more information. Join us today!

About Best Friends Animal Society Utah

Mission Statement

The mission of Best Friends is to end the killing in America's animal shelters and create a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. We do this by building community programs and partnerships all across the nation. We believe that by working together we can Save Them All.

Description

Best Friends Animal Society in Utah works collaboratively with animal rescue groups, city shelters and passionate individuals who are all dedicated to the mission of making Utah a no-kill state. The Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Sugarhouse provides adoptions, animal fostering opportunities, and serves as a base of operations for our community cat and shelter support programs. Volunteers help us achieve our goals in many ways, including fostering animals in their own homes, distributing food in our Pet Food Pantry, keeping our center clean and healthy for the animals, spreading our message to the community at outreach events, and driving animals to where they need to go.

Best Friends Animal Society is a nationwide leader in the No-Kill movement. Founded on the idea that no animals should have to die in shelters while resources exist to help them, our organization began with the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT, the world's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals. Our focus on a better world through kindness to animals has led to a variety of programs, including efforts to end breed-discriminatory legislation and unethical "puppy-mill" breeding operations, advocacy of Trap-Neuter-Return programs for community cats, and rescue transports to help animals in overcrowded shelters find homes. We believe that together we can Save Them All!
