The program is called 'eBasics, an intergenerational initiative where young adults get to tutor and support seniors on how to use their electronic devices (computers, tablets, phones). Below is a brief overview: We need 4-5 volunteers between the ages of 16-24, willing to commit to attend a weekly session on Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm (in person).
Tasks:
1. To offer one-on-one help/support to seniors
2. To answer questions regarding basic use of electronic devices (use of phones, iPad, computers, cellphone)
3. To support seniors troubleshoot issues encountered when using their devices
-Other information: Tutoring sessions are 30 minutes long and seniors book them in advance through their NORC office. Tutors arrive ten minutes earlier to set up and will handle a total of 4 sessions (30 minutes each) per day.
