Serenity Hospice is actively seeking new volunteers to visit patients in far Southeast Portland, with a particular need in Clackamas County. Hospice volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing an array of experiences to those we serve. Experience in hospice or health care is not required. The most valuable asset to a hospice volunteer is an open heart.
Volunteers at Serenity Hospice support patients and their families in various ways. Volunteers offer companionship, end-of-life vigil support, caregiver respite periods, helping with household chores, and much more. Some volunteers enjoy serving our patients indirectly by helping in our offices.
If you would like to learn more about becoming a volunteer with Serenity Hospice, please contact Ginger at 503-639-0600 or gstrand@addus.com or visit our website at https://serenityhospice.org/volunteer/. Thank you for all you do for your community!

Mission Statement
Doing whatever it takes when it matters most. No One Dies Alone, Afraid or in Pain.
Description
We are privileged to provide end-of-life care and are dedicated to doing "Whatever It takes, when it matters most." We are rigorous in the ongoing evaluation of our performance and work to improve our process and results every day. We are committed to acting with integrity and having a positive impact on everyone with whom we come in contact. Using a holistic approach, Serenity Palliative Care and Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients (and their families) experiencing end-of-life transition. We believe that no one should die alone, afraid or in pain. Pain management is our main priority and alternative therapies are offered as a complementary means of treating pain. Serenity is also a proud partner of the We Honor Veterans Program. Serenity has developed our own V.I.P. Program as a special level of care designed for Veterans.
